Imagine my surprise...
I'm rounding the corner into my laundry room...
and this is what I see!
He/she was actually just sitting there on the floor, and not wanting to leave it alone to find my camera,
I just picked it up and put it in this Mason jar.
I wouldn't have been able to get my husband in the house if he knew a snake was on the loose!
It was really beautiful-and really tiny. That's my pinkie under the jar!
I released him back to nature.
Hopefully he stays there!

Ann Marie - how brave of you. I would have died, right there on the spot and needed CPR and and first aid, probably the state police and fire department would have been called as well. Eventually a priest!!! lol
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your little friend,
Patrice
ooooooo, I cant believe you touched it!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAh... you found a little garter snake just like I found my little rat snake a few weeks ago! So glad you are a "move and release" person too!!
ReplyDeleteOHHH MYYYY GOODNESSSSS! Snakes and I are NOT friends! Glad you let him go though! Diana
ReplyDeleteYou are one BRAVE woman! And only a true blogger would've taken pictures of the intruder before setting it free! :)
ReplyDeleteI had a six foot king snake in my garden the other day. The exterminator is recommending I keep him, to keep the bad snakes away. I bravely agreed, but am enjoying my jardin less. I am not a snake lover and I wish I was brave like you! Come visit us!

I am sicked out. In the Laundry room? Yikes!
ReplyDeleteYou are a brave one.. if it was me.. I'm not sure I could ever walk barefoot in the house again! :P
UGH!!! For me the only good snake is a dead snake, however, my husband has taught me good ones from bad ones! So I would have put him back out, too! We have a slight problem with copperheads here on our property and we definitely kill them.
ReplyDeletethere would have been a lot of screaming and dancing untill someone took it out.
ReplyDeleteyou are so brave.
We have a couple of little snakes out in our yard. I know they're there, but I always gasp and jump a little when I suddenly notice that one's close!
ReplyDeletea snakes a snake. They are all nasty looking. I have ophidiophobia and have only in recent years gotten to the place where looking at them in a picture doesn't make me hyperventilate.
ReplyDeleteI would have had a serious anxiety/panic attack had I seen that in my house.
Mouse would have been fine, spiders - don't bother me. But snakes? <<>>
You are so brave! My husband is the snake catcher in our house...and I really like it that you have released this baby back to the wild! I love your projects and your house!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry did you say YOU PICKED IT UP..... wow you are a brave woman!!!! I would have died!!
ReplyDeleteI saw a snake at my mother in laws how when i was pregnant and thought i was going to go into labor!!! I was paralyzed!! haha
Yuck! And where were your three watchdogs during all of this?
ReplyDeleteYou are much braver than me! I am really not sure what I would have done.
ReplyDeleteOH creepy ! They make me shudder! I once had a 5 foot snake crawl through a torn screen in my window and was laying in my bedroom window at the head of the bed. I couldn't get out of the room fast enough!
ReplyDeleteI laugh in the face of snakes...ha,ha,ha...but show me a big hairy spider and I will head for the hills!
