Our local HEB grocery store had Strawberries on sale-2 pounds for $6.
We needed some jam, so that's what I did.
It's been many years since I did any canning.
Prepped my berries, 1 1/2 cups of sugar, lemon zest and lemon juice.
Throw it all in a pan, add heat and stir until your arm falls off and it all turns into liquid, sort of.
Throw in the berries and cook for half an hour or so.
I mashed them and then remembered I had an immersion blender!
Boiled jars and lids.
Jars filled and ready to seal.
Next, Blackberry Jam!
It sure felt good to do a little canning again!
